NEW YORK -- Carolina Hurricanes rookie Jeff Skinner and Colorado Avalanche forward Paul Stastny have been named to the all-star game roster as injury replacements.

Defencemen P.K. Subban of the Montreal Canadiens and Jamie McBain of the Hurricanes are also headed to the festivities in Raleigh, N.C., as rookie representatives in the skills competition.

The roster juggling comes with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin and Ales Hemsky being forced to sit out with injuries.

Minnesota's Martin Havlat was named to the all-star roster Tuesday. Keith Yandle was also added to replace injured Atlanta defenceman Tobias Enstrom.

Skinner, the league's youngest player and rookie points leader, joins teammates Eric Staal and Cam Ward in Sunday's contest.

The 18-year-old was previously chosen as one of the 12 rookies to compete in the skills competition during the weekend's festivities.

His addition to the all-star roster along with an injury to Edmonton forward Jordan Eberle created the openings for Subban and McBain.

Heading into Wednesday's play, Skinner led all rookies with 40 points and 22 assists, while his 18 goals ranked second.

The Markham, Ont., native will become the youngest player to ever suit up in an all-star game.

Stastny joins teammate Matt Duchene on the all-star roster with his second selection to the contest. He's second on the Avs with 17 goals and 42 points
