VANCOUVER -- Referee Justin St. Pierre left Thursday's game between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks with an ankle injury.

St. Pierre, a Dolbeau, Que., native who has been officiating pro hockey since 1995 and was promoted to the NHL from the AHL in 2006, departed in the second period with a sprained ankle. His injury was announced during the second-period intermission.

Until then, no goals had been scored and only two penalties had been called. After St. Pierre left, Dave Jackson served as the lone referee for the rest of the game.
