PITTSBURGH -- The Penguins signed free-agent forward Brian Gibbons to a two-year, entry-level contract on Monday.

In his final season at Boston College, Gibbons had 18 goals and 51 points in 39 games. He was an assistant captain for the Eagles, and made the All-Hockey East second team.

Gibbons and the Eagles won two NCAA titles (2008, 2010) during his career. A native of Braintree, Mass., he played 160 games at Boston College, finishing with 56 goals, 108 assists and 160 points.
