The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Friday that the club signed forward Matt Frattin to a two-year entry level contract.

The Leafs originally selected Frattin with their second choice, 99th overall in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

He is expected to be in the lineup tomorrow night when the Maple Leafs host the Montreal Canadiens at Air Canada Centre.

Frattin, a 23-year-old native of Edmonton, Alberta was a finalist for the 2011 Hobey Baker Award, which is an annual award given to the top NCAA men's hockey player.

Frattin played 44 games for the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux this season and led the NCAA with 36 goals. He also ranked first on North Dakota in points, game-winning goals, powerplay goals, shorthanded goals and empty net goals. He was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Year and a WCHA First Team All-Star. As well, he led the Fighting Sioux to the WCHA regular season and playoff titles, and a berth into the NCAA Frozen Four championship.
