McKenzie: Boucher breaks off trap-style to go aggressive

Some thoughts from the NHL on TSN panel on Thursday night:

The Lightning's shift from their vaunted passive neutral zone 1-3-1 scheme certainly seemed to be a curve ball or a change up that the Boston Bruins did not respond to. This was a very aggressive Tampa Bay team, more so than I've seen them at any time in these playoffs.

And Guy Boucher talked after the game about how they had a lot of different looks but this is one that was very aggressive – lots of people in on the forecheck, no hanging back in the neutral zone at all, to the point where they wouldn't even let the Bruins set up behind the net.

And hey, that's a self-inflicted wound to the extent Kaberle's puck handling was terrible, but that still was a mindset change that maybe the Bruins were not ready to see and to see at that extent, that early in the hockey game.

Guy Boucher is an innovative guy and he throws a lot of curves, and the Bruins now know to be prepared for the unexpected.
