Vancouver Canucks winger Mikael Samuelsson underwent successful surgery to repair his adductor tendon and sports hernia on Thursday and will be out of the line-up indefinitely.
"After consultation with our physicians, it was decided that surgery was the best course of action," said Canucks general manager Mike Gillis. "The best long-term decision for Mikael and our hockey club was to have the surgery immediately."
Samuelsson suffered an undisclosed lower body injury in Game 5 of the Western Conference semi-final series with the Nashville Predators and has not played since then.
