The Calgary Flames have re-signed goaltender Henrik Karlsson to a two-year deal worth US$1.725 million.
The 27-year old backup netminder appeared in 17 games last season and compiled a 4-5-6 record with a 2.38 goals against average.
Karlsson was acquired by the Flames in a draft day trade in 2010 from the San Jose Sharks.
Last season was Karlsson's first in the National Hockey League, prior to that he spent six-years in the Swedish Elite League most recently with Farjestad.
