The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to terms with Jonathan Ericsson, inking the defenceman to a three-year, $9.75 million deal.
The club will take an annual cap hit of $3.25 million in the deal.
Ericsson, who was eligible to become an unrestricted free agent on Friday, earned $900,000 last season.
The 6'4, 220lbs native of Karlskrona, Sweden produced three goals and 12 assists through 74 games with the Red Wings last season and adding a goal and two assists in the playoffs.
Ericsson was drafted by the Red Wings in the ninth round (291st overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
