The Phoenix Coyotes have signed unrestricted free agent goaltender Curtis McElhinney to a one-year, two-way contract.

Last season, the 28-year-old goaltender split time between the Ottawa Senators and Anaheim Ducks.

Playing in a career-high 28 games, he finished with a record of 9-13-1 with two shutouts and a 2.99 goals against average.

In four NHL seasons with the Senators, Ducks and Calgary Flames, the 6-foot-2 McElhinney appeared in 67 games posting a 18-26-4 record with a 3.13 GAA.

The London, Ontario native was originally drafted by the Calgary Flames in the sixth-round of the 2002 Entry Draft.

The Coyotes also signed defenceman Tyler Eckford to a one-year contract.

The 25-year-old was a seventh round pick of the Devils in the 2004 NHL entry draft.

He played four games with the Devils and 37 with their AHL affiliate in Albany.  Two seasons ago, he had career highs of eight goals and 31 points with Lowell.
