Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Avalanche signed defenceman Kyle Cumiskey to a one-year contract on Friday.

The 24-year-old played in only 18 games with the Avalanche last season due to injuries, collecting one goal and seven assists.

For his career, Cumiskey has registered nine goals and 35 points in 132 games -- all with Colorado, which selected the British Columbia native in the seventh round of the 2005 draft.
