TORONTO -- The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired centre David Steckel from the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday.

New Jersey will receive Toronto's fourth-round draft pick in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft in exchange for the 29-year-old forward.

Steckel won 62.3 per cent of his faceoffs in 2010-11, leading all NHL players.

The Milwaukee native had 24 goals and 35 assists in 309 games with the Washington Capitals and Devils.

A veteran of 24 NHL playoff games with the Capitals, Steckel has four goals and three assists in the post-season.
