Tampa Bay Lightning defenceman Mattias Ohlund will undergo arthroscopic surgery on both knees on Tuesday morning and could be out as long as four to six weeks.

The 35-year-old blueliner was placed on injured reserve by the Lightning on Oct. 4 with inflammation of the right knee.

Ohlund skated in 72 games last season, and registered five assists in his second campaign with the Lightning.

The Swedish veteran spent his first 11 seasons with the Vancouver Canucks before signing as an unrestricted free agent with Tampa Bay in the summer of 2009.
