The Philadelphia Flyers promoted forward Brayden Schenn from Adirondack of the American Hockey League on Wednesday.

Schenn was acquired from the Los Angeles Kings along with Wayne Simmonds in a multi-player offseason deal that saw former Flyers captain Mike Richards head west.

Schenn, the younger brother of Maple Leafs defenceman Luke Schenn, had 57 points in 29 games in the Western Hockey League last season and helped Canada earn a silver medal at last year's World Junior Championship.

In other moves, the Flyers demoted forwards Harrison Zolnierczyk and Zac Rinaldo to Adirondack.
