The Edmonton Oilers claimed defenceman Taylor Chorney off waivers from the St. Louis Blues on Thursday and assigned defenceman Colten Teubert to Oklahoma City.
Chorney, 24, was originally placed on waivers by the Oilers for purpose of assignment to Oklahoma City of the American Hockey League on October 10 when the Blues claimed him.
The Thunder Bay, ON native has appeared in two games this season with the Blues. Last year he played in 12 games for the Oilers, scoring once and adding three assists. He also had three goals and 13 assists in 46 games with the Barons.
Chorney, who has been assigned to Oklahoma City, has a goal and six assists in 58 career NHL games.
Teubert, 21, played in two games with the Oilers, collecting his first career NHL point. He also has played in nine games with the Barons this season recording two goals and two assists.
The White Rock, B.C. native has appeared in 68 career AHL games with the Barons and Manchester Monarchs collecting six goals, 15 assists and 101 PIM.
Teubert was acquired from Los Angeles with a draft pick in exchange for Dustin Penner last season.
