Winnipeg Jets defenceman Zach Bogosian had a hearing with NHL senior vice-president of player safety Brendan Shanahan on Thursday to discuss Bogosian's hit to the head of Washington Capitals forward Cody Eakin.

The play from Wednesday night's game did not draw a penalty.

The 21-year-old Bogosian, who is in his third NHL campaign, has never been suspended before.

The NHL has issued 14 suspensions since the beginning of the preseason.
