Pittsburgh Penguins defenceman Deryk Engelland will have a hearing on Thursday for his hit on Chicago Blackhawks forward Marcus Kruger on Tuesday night.

The hearing will take place via conference call.

Midway through the first period, Engelland led with his forearm in delivering a hit to Kruger's head. Kruger played the remainder of the period but did not return for the second frame.

Kruger is believed to have suffered a head injury on the play, which will factor into any supplemental discipline.

The Penguins are off until Friday when they visit the Winnipeg Jets.
