St. Louis Blues defenseman Ian Cole has been suspended for three games for his hit on Detroit Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader Saturday night.

Cole, 22, received a two-minute minor for hitting Abdelkader in the head. Abdelkader left the game for observations, but would later return and score a goal in Detroit's 3-0 win.

Cole has one goal and four points in 13 games for the Blues this season, his second with the team.
