Canadiens' Gionta undergoes surgery to repair tear in biceps

Montreal Canadiens captain Brian Gionta underwent successful surgery to repair a tear in the right biceps on Wednesday.

He will be sidelined indefinitely.

Gionta suffered the injury during the third period of Tuesday night's game against the St. Louis Blues.

In 31 games this season, Gionta has eight goals and seven assists for 15 points.
