Despite Buffalo Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller's rant Monday following his team's 5-0 loss to the Detroit Red Wings, there is still some whispers that Miller has asked for a trade.

On Wednesday, the 2009-10 Vezina Trophy winner put that speculation to rest.

"I have not and will not ask for a trade," Miller told TSN's James Duthie via a text message. "I will fall on the 'Sabre' before that.

"Please no one ask me again."

The 31-year-old is having the worst season of his NHL career this season, posting an 11-13-2 record with a 3.12 goals-against-average and a .898 save percentage.

The Sabres, who added high priced players Ville Leino, Christian Ehrhoff and Robyn Regehr in the off-season, have been hit hard by injuries and are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference, and sit seven points out of a playoff spot.

It's a position that nobody involved with the team thought they would be in 45 games into the season.

"It's not good hockey. It's not good from top down," Miller said on Monday. "I need to be better. I can't seem to find a night where I can get in a groove."

On Monday, Miller also dismissed the notion that making a major trade of any kind would result in a reversal of fortune for the Sabres.

"If you guys really think there's going to be any kind of trade made anywhere that's going to affect this team any more than we can affect it in this locker room, you guys are just ... I don't know," said Miller. "I don't know what to think because there's no such trade.
