ST. LOUIS -- Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall said he's hoping to make his return to the lineup on Saturday against the Calgary Flames.

Hall hasn't played since suffering a nasty gash to his head during the warmup before Tuesday's game in Columbus.

The 20-year-old slipped on the ice and collided with a teammate before he was accidentally cut on the head by Corey Potter's skate. The defenceman had tried to jump out of the way when he saw his teammates sliding toward him.

The left side of Hall's forehead was still quite swollen Thursday. His left eye was partially closed and a line of stitches ran from his eyebrow back to his scalp.

"Whenever the swelling settles down a little bit, I'll be back in the lineup doing the best I can," Hall told reporters Thursday.

The team also posted Hall's picture on Twitter along with a message from the young forward.

"I'm feeling better. I'd like to thank our trainers & the Columbus medical staff," he said in the post.

Hall was not wearing a helmet during the warmup. The first overall pick in the 2010 draft, Hall has 15 goals and 16 assists in 36 games.

The Oilers did get some good news on the injury front Thursday.

Forward Jordan Eberle was expected to play against the Blues. He missed almost two weeks with a right knee injury.
