Minnesota Wild centre Warren Peters will have a phone hearing with the National Hockey League on Sunday for his cross-check to the head of St. Louis Blues forward David Backes.

The incident occurred with 3:30 left in the game, which the Blues won 4-0.  After the hit, Backes left the ice and did not return.

"I've got to be more responsible with my stick," Peters said after the game. "There was in no way malicious intent to go to his head. But my stick made contact with the side of his head so I'll take the consequences."

After the game, Backes was said to be fine and is expected to play Sunday in Chicago.
