With Monday's NHL Trade Deadline looming, teams are making decisions on whether to buy or sell and deciding which players can make the biggest difference or hold the greatest value.

Check out today's trade rumours and speculation from around the NHL beat, and follow TSN.ca each day until Deadline Day for all the updates.

Breaking the Silence

Rick Nash's agent, Joe Resnick, has broken his silence on his client's trade situation. "We're hopeful a deal can get done prior to the trade deadline that is fair and equitable for the Blue Jackets, Resnick told TSN. "However, if a deal is not reached, then the list of acceptable teams will not change at a later date."

Brother Act?

TSN Insider Pierre LeBrun puts the odds at 50-50 that Canadiens winger Andrei Kostitsyn winds up joining his brother Sergei in Nashville by Monday's deadline.

LeBrun believes that the Predators have discussed acquiring the elder Kostitsyn internally and while re-uniting the brothers may be a risk, the team believes Andrei still has great upside and a change of scenery could fuel his hunger to regain his 20-goal form.

Kostitsyn, however, told The Globe and Mail that his preference is to stay in Montreal, despite his name popping up in trade rumours.

What can Brown do for you?

TSN Insider Bob McKenzie said that the Kings have talked to at least one team - if not more - to determine the market for Dustin Brown.

While the speculation that the Kings would deal their captain has quieted in the 24 hours since they acquired Jeff Carter from Columbus, McKenzie still believes the Kings would be interested in making a deal if the return package is significant.

To Khab and Khab Not

Could the Maple Leafs be looking to Oilers veteran Nikolai Khabibulin to shore up the team's goaltending concerns?

LeBrun reports that the teams have at least discussed the idea of a transaction involving the 39-year-old keeper who has one year left on his deal.

LeBrun also mentioned Evgeni Nabokov as a possible fit for the Leafs should contract negotiations break down between him and the Islanders.

Rollie with the Homeys?

The Ottawa Sun speculated that the Senators could bring in goaltending help if the team is unwilling to wait out Craig Anderson's finger injury.

Tampa netminder Dwayne Roloson was mentioned as a possible trade target, while the Sun also reports that the team has been contacted by San Jose to see if they would have interest in Antero Niittymaki on re-entry waivers.

Getting Creative

If the Bruins are to repeat as Stanley Cup Champs, general manager Peter Chiarelli may have to make some creative deals to bolster his team's line-up before 3pm et on Monday.

An NESN report suggests that the team had targeted forwards Antoine Vermette and Tuomo Ruutu but with both now off the market (due to trade and contract extension, respectively), Chiarelli may now have to explore other avenues.

Shifting Gears

The Dallas Stars' winning ways may eliminate any notion of the team dealing its players ahead of the deadline, according to LeBrun. Mike Ribeiro or Steve Ott were thought to be available earlier this week, according to NHL sources.

The exception may be if the Philadelphia Flyers make winger James van Riemsdyk available. The Stars are believed to highly covet van Riemsdyk and will continue to pursue him in hopes of pairing him alongside Jamie Benn.
