Red Wings defenceman c will miss his second straight game this evening when the Minnesota Wild visit Detroit.

Lidstrom has a bone bruise in his ankle and likely won't return to the lineup until next week, according to head coach Mike Babcock.

Lidstrom was injured during Detroit's 4-3 loss to Colorado on Saturday night.

The 41-year-old has played in 1,556 games, the most by an NHL player who spent his entire career with one team. The four-time Stanley Cup champion was voted the league's top defenceman last year for the seventh time.

Lidstrom has 31 points and a plus-25 rating this season. The Swede might have a shot to match Bobby Orr's record of eight Norris Trophies he won consecutively from 1968-1975.
