Yzerman back as Team Canada Executive Director for 2014

CALGARY - Steve Yzerman is going to lead Team Canada into the 2014 Sochi Olympics.

Hockey Canada has named him executive director of the men's hockey team for a second straight Winter Games.

Yzerman assembled the squad the won gold at the 2010 Games in Vancouver.

He'll be assisted by a group that includes Detroit Red Wings GM Ken Holland, Edmonton Oilers president Kevin Lowe, St. Louis Blues GM Doug Armstrong and Hockey Canada staffers Bob Nicholson and Brad Pascall.

Lowe has also been put in charge of Canada's entry at the upcoming IIHF World Hockey Championship in Helsinki.

Boston Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli and Toronto Maple Leafs director of operations Dave Nonis will be his assistants at that tournament.

Round 2 continues with San Jose's Dan Boyle taking on Kari Lehtonen of the Dallas Stars.
