The Chicago Blackhawks have signed forward Daniel Carcillo to a two-year contract extension worth $825,000 per season.

Carcillo signed a one-year, $775,000 free agent deal on July 1, 2011.

The 26-year-old recorded two goals and nine assists with 82 penalty minutes and a plus- 10 rating in 28 regular-season games this season.

Originally selected in the third round (73rd overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by the Pittsburgh Penguins, Carcillo has registered 38 goals, 46 assists and 1,068 penalty minutes in 310 regular-season games over parts of five seasons with the Phoenix Coyotes, Philadelphia Flyers and Blackhawks.

The King City, Ontario, native has also notched five goals, six assists and 69 penalty minutes in 33 career Stanley Cup Playoffs tilts, which includes a run to the 2010 Stanley Cup Final with the Flyers.
