Toronto, ON (March 16, 2012) – Sidney Crosby's return to the NHL last night attracted an average audience of more than a half a million Canadians to TSN2 – Canada's most-watched digital sports network. Overnight data from BBM Canada confirms that last night's Pittsburgh Penguins @ New York Rangers game attracted an average audience of 547,000, making it the second highest audience ever recorded on TSN2.
Overall, more than 2.2 million Canadians tuned in to watch some, or all, of the game on TSN2. The game also secured yesterday's top audience on Canadian specialty TV among A25-54.
An additional 206,000 viewers watched the game in French on RDS – giving the game a national average audience of 753,000 viewers.
