Phoenix Coyotes forward Shane Doan had a disciplinary hearing with the NHL's Department of Player Safety on Wednesday for his elbow on Dallas forward Jamie Benn in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Stars.

Doan received a two-minute minor for the hit at the 5:54 mark of the second period. Benn was stunned, but stayed in the game.

"I think it's a suspendable offence," Stars coach Glen Gulutzan said after the game. "He targeted the head with his elbow. The league will look at it for sure and then they'll decide, but it's deliberate."
