When the Vancouver Canucks depart for Los Angeles on Saturday for the next two games of their Western Conference quarterfinal series with the Kings, injured forward Daniel Sedin will not be on the plane.

Canucks head coach Alain Vigneault confirmed that Sedin will not travel with the team while general manager Mike Gillis added the team is unsure on Sedin's status for the remainder of the series. Game 3 is slated for Sunday night.

The Canucks lost the first two games of the series at home and must win four of the next five games to avoid being eliminated from the playoffs after winning the Presidents' Trophy with the best record in the regular season.

Sedin has been out for more than three weeks after taking an elbow in the head from Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Duncan Keith, who was suspended for five games.

Vigneault also said he has made a decision on who will start in net for Game 3 but he has yet to inform Roberto Luongo or Cory Schneider of his decision.

Luongo has started both games for the Canucks and surrendered seven goals on 71 shots in the series.
