The Carolina Hurricanes signed forward Brody Sutter to a three-year, entry-level contract on Friday.
The deal will pay Sutter $525,000 per season at the NHL level, and includes a signing bonus of $105,000.
"Brody had a good final year of junior hockey, and played well in Charlotte to finish the season," said Hurricanes director of hockey operations Ron Francis in a statement. "He's a big body and has shown an ability to produce offensively."
Sutter, who was a seventh-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2011, is the son of former NHL player Duane Sutter. He is also the cousin of current Hurricanes alternate captain Brandon Sutter and forward Brett Sutter.
Brody Sutter had 30 goals and 30 assists for the Lethbridge Hurricanes last season and added one goal in four games for the AHL's Charlotte Checkers.
