So in what order do NHL scouts have them ranked?
Tune in to TSN tonight at 7:30pm et/4:30pm pt as TSN Hockey Insider Bob McKenzie unveils the Top 30 consensus prospects, based on the opinions of NHL scouts. McKenzie will be joined in the TSN studio by NHL on TSN host James Duthie.
Then check out TSN.ca for Bob's list of the Top 60 prospects, including player bios and reports from TSN Scout Craig Button.
Bob McKenzie has covered every NHL Draft since 1980 and his annual TSN rankings are considered the most accurate indicator of how the draft will unfold. In the 2011 NHL Draft, 25 of his top 30 prospects were first-round picks. In the last eight years, Bob is 204 of 240 in terms of projecting first rounders (85 percent).
TSN's annual survey of NHL scouts asks them which players will be taken in the first round and at which position. The final rankings are based on a consensus of opinion and do not take into account the NHL teams' order of selection or specific teams needs.
