The Calgary Flames have signed C Blair Jones to a two-year, $1.3 million contract, keeping the 25-year-old from testing free agency.
Jones was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Brendan Mikkelson in January last season.
"Blair Jones is the type of 'hard to play against' player we want in our line-up," said Flames general manager Jay Feaster in a team release.
"We believe he is only going to continue to get better as he works on other aspects of his game such as face-offs and being an irritant to play against. We are pleased to have him signed."
Jones tallied three goals and eight points with Calgary and Tampa Bay last year. The former fourth-round pick has played five seasons in the NHL.
