The Washington Capitals signed unrestricted free agent forward Wojtek Wolski to a one-year, $600,000 contract on Wednesday.

Wolski, 26, is a veteran of seven NHL seasons and will be joining his fifth team. He played his first four years with the Colorado Avalanche before spending time with the Phoenix Coyotes, New York Rangers, and Florida Panthers. He was traded from the Rangers to the Panthers last season just prior to the trade deadline and posted four goals and eight assists in 31 games between the teams.

Wolski's best season came in 2009-10, when he scored 23 goals and 42 assists while playing for Colorado and Phoenix.

The 6'3", 215 lb native of Zabrze, Poland has 95 goals and 163 assists in 424 NHL games.
