Jonathan Quick's playoff heroics appear to have taken a toll on his body.

The Los Angeles Kings announced via Twitter on Thursday that the Conn Smythe Trophy winner "underwent a minor surgical procedure to repair a disc fragment and an inflammatory cyst that had formed".

The release stated Quick will begin rehabbing from surgery next week and that a full recovery will take a minimum of six weeks.

Should the 2012-13 season begin on-time, that would leave Quick in jeopardy of missing the start of Kings' training camp.

The 26-year-old keeper posted a 35-21-13 record in 69 regular season games with the Kings last season. His .929 save percentage and 1.95 goals-against average were good enough to land him amongst the 2012 Vezina Trophy nominees.

Quick really poured it on in the playoffs, however, going 16-4 with a 1.41 goals-against and a .946 save percentage en route to leading the Kings to the franchise's first Stanley Cup.

The Kings locked Quick down long-term this summer, inking him to a 10-year, $58 million contract extension on June 28.
