If NHL players are locked out when the Collective Bargaining Agreement expires on Saturday night, Evgeni Malkin and Sergei Gonchar have Plan B in the works.

Both players practiced with Magnitogorsk of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League on Friday and are expected to play their first game with the club in Ufa on Thursday.

Earlier this week, the KHL announced a new set of guidelines for its clubs signing NHL talent in the event of a lockout, saying "that only top-level foreign players come to play in the Kontinental Hockey League."

Last season, Malkin scored 109 points with the Pittaburgh Penguins while Gonchar had 37 points with the Ottawa Senators.
