It appears that Winnipeg Jets defenceman Tobias Enstrom has joined the growing list of NHL players plying their trade in Europe while the lockout continues.
According to the Winnipeg Sun, Enstrom has signed with EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian League and could be in the lineup by Friday.
Enstrom had been working out with MoDo of the Swedish Elite League before signing a one-year deal with Salzburg that includes an out-clause in the event of the lockout coming to an end.
Last season, Enstrom scored six goals and added 27 assists for 33 points in 62 games with the Jets. In July, he signed a five-year, $28.75 million contract extension.
The Sun also reports that former Jets forward Eric Fehr has signed on with Hämeenlinnan of the Finnish Elite League.
