The Winnipeg Jets might be forced to open the season without forward Antti Miettinen.

The 32-year-old will be out indefinitely after suffering an upper-body injury at practice on Tuesday. Miettinen will undergo further testing to figure out the extent of the injury.

Miettinen played in 45 games with the Jets last season, posting five goals and eight assists. He played with HPK in Finland during the lockout.

Jets forward Nik Antropov was also assessed on Tuesday and the team is hopeful that he will be able to practice on Wednesday.
