The Edmonton Oilers did some shuffling of their alternate captains on Tuesday, with Jordan Eberle being given an 'A' full-time.

Taylor Hall and Nick Schultz will also rotate as alternate captains this season while Shawn Horcoff remains team captain.

Ales Hemsky and Ryan Whitney, who were alternate captains last year, will not be this season.

"We feel it's a good time for Taylor and Jordan to step up, said Oilers head coach Ralph Krueger. "It's the passion they bring to the game, to our team and the city of Edmonton."

"It's exciting news, and it's an honour to be a captain, but we have a lot of leadership in this room," said Eberle, who is entering his third season with the team.

Hall is also beginning his third season with Edmonton, while Schultz is a 10-year NHL veteran who was traded to the Oilers last February.
