Forward Mikhail Grigorenko is staying up with the Buffalo Sabres.

The team sent out a tweet on Tuesday saying, "GM Darcy Regier says Mikhail Grigorenko will remain with the team and play tonight vs leafs."

Grigorenko, who was drafted 12th overall last summer, has no points in five games with the Sabres this season.

When he plays his next game, the first year of his entry-level contract will kick in.

Before the lockout, Grigorenko scored 29 goals and added 21 assists for 50 points in 32 games with the Quebec Remparts of the QMJHL.

He also had six points in seven games in helping Russia win a bronze medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
