The Anaheim Ducks have sent 19-year-old forward Rickard Rakell back to Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.

Rakell, has played in four games with the Ducks this season, posting no points.

The 30th selection of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, had been a scratch for the Ducks' last seven games.

By sending Rakell down now, the Ducks won't burn the first year of his entry-level deal.

Last season, Rakell posted 28 goals and 34 assists in 60 games with the Whalers.
