Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall may be facing supplemental discipline for a knee-on-knee hit in Thursday night's game against the Minnesota Wild.

The 21-year-old had a phone hearing scheduled with National Hockey League Director of Player Safety Brendan Shanahan at 2:30pm et on Friday afternoon for his hit on Minnesota forward Cal Clutterbuck late in Thursday's game. Hall received a five-minute kneeing penalty as well as a 10-minute and game misconduct penalty for the hit, which came with under three minutes left in the third period of Edmonton's 3-1 home loss to the Wild.

In 16 games so far this season Hall has registered three goals and 13 assists. He is currently tied for the team lead in points with Sam Gagner.

Hall has no previous history of suspensions in the NHL.

The semifinals continue as Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk faces Cody Hodgson of the Sabres.
