The Edmonton Oilers placed goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin on Injured Reserve on Wednesday and recalled Yann Danis from Oklahoma City of the AHL.

Khabibulin had started in four of the last five games, and made 31 saves in the Oilers 3-2 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Monday.

The 40-year-old finished Monday's game, and the club had an off-day on Tuesday, so when the injury occurred remains unclear.

In five games this season, Khabibulin has a 2-2-1 record with a 2.12 GAA.

Danis has appeared in 31 games for the Barons this season, posting a 15-13-3 record, with a 3.03 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.
