Florida Panthers forward Kris Versteeg will require season-ending knee surgery.

Panthers head coach Kevin Dineen announced the news following Thursday's morning skate at TD Garden in Boston. The news comes just one week after it was announced that forward Stephen Weiss was going to miss the remainder of the season due to surgery on his wrist.

Versteeg was injured during Tuesday's game against the Lightning when he collided with Tampa Bay defenceman Radko Gudas.

Versteeg has played in 10 games this season, earlier missing 17 games because of a lower-body injury.
