The Toronto Maple Leafs have traded David Steckel to the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for right-winger Ryan Lasch and the Ducks' seventh-round pick in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.

"Adding David Steckel gives us another big body and depth up the middle," said Ducks general manager Bob Murray. "He comes highly recommended from Bruce (Boudreau). Faceoffs have been something of a concern for us the last few seasons. Steckel is a tremendous faceoff man and penalty killer, something that will really help our club."

The 26-year-old Lasch will be assigned to the Toronto Marlies.

Lasch, currently playing in the Swedish Elite League with the Vaxjo Lakers, was a free agent signing of the Ducks on May 31, 2012. He represented Team USA at the 2012 IIHF World Championship and collected two assists in seven games. Last season, he captured the Finnish Elite League scoring title by recording 24 goals and 38 assists.

Steckel had one assist in 13 games played with Toronto this season. He joined the Maple Leafs in a trade with New Jersey on October 4, 2011.
