With the NHL Trade Deadline two weeks away, teams are making decisions on whether to buy or sell. Check out today's trade rumours and speculation from around the NHL beat, and follow TSN.ca each day until Deadline Day for all the updates.

Mighty Jarome

Will Flames captain Jarome Iginla be on the move prior to the Apr. 3 trade deadline? It remains possible, but as TSN Insider Bob McKenzie reported on Tuesday's edition of Insider Trading, the 35-year-old will certainly be in control of his own destiny.

Pittsburgh, Boston and Vancouver remain the most speculated upon amongst possible destinations for the veteran sniper, but teams like Detroit and Los Angeles may also be in the mix.

While McKenzie could not confirm whether Iginla has made a formal list of destinations he did state that the wheels are in motion to begin the process of dealing the long-time Flame.

Spirited (out) of St. Louis

The forward ranks in St. Louis have suddenly become a lot more crowded thanks to the return of Andy McDonald Tuesday and the expected return of T.J. Oshie later this week only promises to put playing time at a higher premium.

Dan O'Neill of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch speculates that while the Blues do have players that can be sent to the American Hockey League without being put through waivers, players such as Alex Pietrangelo, Kevin Shattenkirk, Vladimir Tarasenko and recent standout Jake Allen remain integral parts of the club and demoting them would be less than desirable.

The other option, O'Neill writes, is expending a forward, which may make the likes of Chris Porter or Matt D'Agostini available via trade.

According to Boyle

With the San Jose Sharks sitting eighth in the Western Conference as of Wednesday, general manager Doug Wilson may take this year as an opportunity to re-shape his roster.

TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun said that Dan Boyle is the type of high-talent defender that could bring value as more than just a rental player, by virtue of the one year remaining on his contract beyond this season.

LeBrun believes the New York Rangers would be a fit for Boyle, given the fact that Boyle won a Stanley Cup with Rangers' coach John Tortorella as a member of the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2004.

Department of Defence

With defenceman Marc Methot limping off in the second period of last night's victory over the New York Islanders, the top priority for Ottawa Senators general manager Bryan Murray may now be finding a top-four defenceman.

The Ottawa Citizen's Ken Warren reported that with key players like Erik Karlsson and Jared Cowen already gone for the year, Methot's injury may put an enormous strain on the existing members of the blue line if he is out for any lengthy period of time.

In the interim, Warren said that he expects the Senators to recall Mark Borowiecki from Binghamton of the AHL to temporarily fill the roster vacancy.
