While the Pittsburgh Penguins are waiting for the arrival of their latest big-ticket acquisition - Jarome Iginla - the team's captain is allowing the 35-year-old a grace period before his much-anticipated debut.
Iginla, who was acquired by the Penguins from the Calgary Flames early Thursday morning, is still yet to arrive in Pittsburgh, but that is not bothering Sidney Crosby.
When asked about not knowing when Iginla may arrive, the 25-year-old Crosby was jovial and understanding.
"Whenever he wants," Crosby said with a laugh . "Whenever he wants, whatever he needs, like I said, we're happy to have him."
Crosby has also reached out to Iginla via text message to let him know how excited the team is to have him.
Penguins coach Dan Bylsma said the team hopes to have an update on Jarome Iginla's immigration status at some point Friday afternoon.
The team got some good news on the injury front as well, as goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury practiced after missing time this week with a sore neck. He is expected to be available to the team for its game Saturday against the New York Islanders.
