Los Angeles Kings forward Dustin Brown has been suspended two games for an elbow to the head of Wild forward Jason Pominville during Tuesday's game in Minnesota.

Midway through the second period of the Kings' 2-1 loss to the Wild, Brown caught Pominville in the head, knocking the Wild forward to the ice. He was woozy after the contact, had to be helped to the bench by a trainer and did not return to the game.

Brown, who was playing the puck at the time of the incident, stated that he was trying to brace himself for a hit that Pominville was getting set to deliver to the Kings' captain, who was not penalized on the play.

Brown will miss the two remaining regular season games for the Kings. Forward Tyler Toffoli was recalled from the AHL's Manchester Monarchs on Wednesday.
