Although they will not see any playoff action, the season will continue for Edmonton Oilers forwards Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle and goaltender Devan Dubnyk as they have accepted Hockey Canada's invitation to play at the World Hockey Championship.

Dubnyk and Eberle were both members of the 2011-12 squad that finished fifth, after being eliminated by Slovakia in the quarter-final round.

Hall is the Oilers leading scorer this season with 15 goals and 45 points in 42 games played and a plus-two rating.

Eberle has participated in all 45 games this season and has 13 goals and 32 points.

Dubnyk is 13-15-6 with a 2.57 goals-against average in 36 games during the 2012-13 season.

Last week, former Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff was named as the bench boss of Canada's 2013 entry.

Ruff led the 2009 team to a silver medal in Switzerland and was also an assistant coach on Canada's 2010 Olympic gold medal winning team.

The World Hockey Championship will take place in Finland and Sweden from May 3rd to May 19th.
