The Detroit Red Wings may be without defenceman Danny DeKeyser for the remainder of the post-season.
General manager Ken Holland told Ansar Khan of MLive.com that DeKeyser has a broken right thumb.
Head coach Mike Babcock said that he believes DeKeyser is done for the season.
The news came after the Red Wings defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-4 in overtime on Thursday night. Dekeyser was injured in the third period after hitting Kyle Palmieri into the boards.
The 23-year-old college free agent signed a two-year deal with Detroit late in the season and played in 11 games, in addition to their two playoff games.
