Rangers' Del Zotto undergoes sports hernia surgery

New York Rangers defenceman Michael Del Zotto has undergone successful surgery to repair a sports hernia, according to a team release.

The expected recovery time is four weeks.

Del Zotto scored three goals and 18 assists in 46 games this season.

The 22-year-old defenceman has appeared in 250 career games with the Rnagers, scoring 24 goals and adding 86 assists. He was originally selected by the Rangers in the first round (20th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
