The Boston Bruins will start the 2013-14 NHL season without some key names from their Stanley Cup run.

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli told impending free agents Jaromir Jagr, Andrew Ference and Jay Pandolfo during Wednesday's exit meetings that they will not be re-signed by the team.

"I don't think I will," Jagr told reporters on Wednesday. "Maybe if I would score 20 goals in the playoffs, it would be a different story. I was 20 short."

With the salary cap going down next season, Chiarelli is hoping to use the saved money to re-sign forward Nathan Horton and goaltender Tuukka Rask. He added that the team did not intend to use any compliance buyouts.

"We'll find the right mix," Chiarelli told reporters. "But we do have some hard decisions to make, including deciding on re-signing players and deciding on retaining players."
